How Hybrid Working Is Changing

Hybrid work is a drastic departure from the traditional work model we’ve seen in years gone by. Hybrid working has many variations, some companies might allow every employee the flexibility to work on-site and remotely part of the week. Other companies might have employees working either full-time remote or full-time on-site.

The way businesses adapt to hybrid working is changing and managers need to shift their hybrid working model to meet the needs of their employees.

To build a hybrid model that works for your company, speak with your workforce to learn their needs. By involving employees, you can create a work model that keeps your people motivated to do their best work.

Employees want their needs, behaviors, and preferences heard by their employers, managers should create employee personas to help understand what their team are looking for and how to categorise them to embed a harmonious worklife. In addition, taking more action by providing colleagues with support mechanisms and personalised work environments can also improve overall employee satisifaction and productivity!

Investing in technologies that enable clear communication between teams is another key point employees want leaders to focus on in the next coming months. Communication is imperative for tons of reasons and if you have teams working across the globe it can be tricky to keep everyone calm when deadlines begin to approach. So for example, you may adopt an asynchronous style of communication to accommodate employees working in different time zones.

Company culture is another centre of interest, so being intentional about reinforcing your company culture is essential, especially where it’s not always possible to swing by someone’s desk. Seek opportunities that delight your employees, consider how you can create experiences for the hybrid work landscape around your company’s core values.

As you work toward building a hybrid work environment that’s ideal for your company, remember to gather employee feedback. Be sure to provide more than one way for employees to share their thoughts. This could be a dedicated employee feedback meeting every quarter or sending out feedback surveys to your workforce.
